The College Navigator Profile is a free information tool from the National Center for Education Statistics, the primary statistical agency of the U.S. Department of Education. It is designed to help students, parents, high school counselors, and others get information about post-secondary educational institutions.

The Higher Education Research Institute (HERI) at UCLA aims to inform educational policy and promote institutional improvement.  It has collected information about the undergraduate student experience since 1989.

IPEDS collects data on postsecondary education in eight key areas: institutional characteristics, institutional prices, admissions, enrollment, student financial aid, degrees and certificates conferred, student persistence and success, and institutional resources.

NCSES collects statistical data in the following broad areas: research and development, the science and engineering workforce, U.S. competitiveness in science, engineering, technology, and R&D, and the condition and progress of STEM education in the United States.
